Warmth & Structure
The strongest classrooms hold high expectations and deep care at the same time. Children flourish when they feel both challenged and safe.
A teacher devoted to rigorous, character-centered learning — and to classrooms where structure and warmth grow side by side.
“Children rise to meet the expectations — and the warmth — we bring them.”
Jackie Bonelli is a K–8 educator who currently leads a kindergarten classroom in the Portland, Oregon area. Over the past three years, she has built a room where young learners feel safe to take risks, eager to return each morning, and proud of how far they’ve come.
Her teaching reaches well beyond a single grade. Credentialed for multiple-subject instruction, she has taught at every grade level as a substitute — learning to step into any classroom and quickly build trust, structure, and momentum.
Before she found her calling in the classroom, a decade of administrative leadership shaped the organization, steadiness, and follow-through that good teaching depends on. Today, she brings all of it to the children and families she serves.
Her faith is the quiet compass behind it all — the source of the patience, grace, and integrity she brings to her work. That same spirit of service reaches beyond the classroom: she stays active in her local community and holds a lasting interest in public administration and local government.
Every choice in my classroom comes back to a handful of convictions.

Academics matter, and so does character. I teach toward curiosity, kindness, and perseverance — the habits that outlast any single lesson.
No two children arrive at the same place. I differentiate instruction so each student is seen, supported, and gently stretched.
Learning doesn’t end at the classroom door. I keep families close through clear, steady, and encouraging communication.
Leads a self-contained kindergarten classroom, owning curriculum, instruction, assessment, and the daily life of the room — and partnering closely with families.
Has taught at every grade level, stepping into unfamiliar classrooms and building rapport, order, and momentum with ease.
Supported young learners in a dual-language elementary setting while earning a California teaching credential.
Built the organization, communication, and follow-through that now anchor her classroom leadership every day.
